  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (for sauce)
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce (optional, for sauce)
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marinade by whisking together soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil. Marinate beef strips for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and sauté until caramelized; season with salt and pepper.
  3. In the same pan, heat another 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over high heat. Add marinated beef strips and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned.
  4. Combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and cornstarch in a bowl. Pour over cooked beef and simmer until thickened.
  5. Stir in sautéed onions before serving hot over rice or noodles.
