  • 3 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup sugar (70g)
  • 3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour (490g)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 6 tablespoons softened unsalted butter (85g)
  • 1/4 cup salted butter (57g)
  • 23 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, stir warm milk with yeast to activate.
  2. Add sugar, flour, egg, salt, and softened butter; mix until shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for about 15 minutes until smooth.
  4. Let the dough rise in an oiled bowl covered with cling wrap for about 90 minutes until doubled.
  5. Punch down the dough and divide into 12 equal pieces; shape into balls.
  6. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet; cover and let rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and brush rolls with egg wash.
  8. Bake for 20-22 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Melt salted butter and sauté garlic; brush over warm rolls before serving.
