  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 6 chicken hamburger buns, torn
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup dill pickles, chopped
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 8 slices American cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat and add onions and garlic; sauté until softened.
  3. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine torn buns with melted butter and sesame seeds. Layer half in a baking dish.
  5. Add half of the beef mixture on top followed by half of the special sauce and shredded cheese. Repeat layers finishing with cheese.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes until bubbly and golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving topped with fresh lettuce and pickles.
