  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 3 tbsp butter

  2. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula until browned. Drain any excess fat if necessary.

  4. Add uncooked rice, beef broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  5. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 18–20 minutes until rice is tender.
  6. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt remaining butter and mix in Parmesan cheese, shredded cheddar, and milk until smooth.
  7. Combine the cheese sauce with the beef and rice mixture; stir until fully integrated.
  8. Cook uncovered for a couple more minutes before serving warm.
