  • 1 wheel of brie cheese (812 oz)
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 12 tablespoons honey
  • 12 tablespoons fig preserves
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Optional: coarse sugar, chopped walnuts or pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface and place the brie in the center.
  3. Score the top of the brie with a crosshatch pattern.
  4. Spread fig preserves over the brie, drizzle with honey, and sprinkle thyme and black pepper on top.
  5. Optionally add chopped nuts for crunch.
  6. Wrap the pastry around the brie, sealing all edges tightly.
